What is NIOS BOARD?
Hello everyone! National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is open an education institute. In other words it is mainly about senior secondary and completing secondary education through correspondence. Like State board, CBSE boards, ICSE board same as NIOS has NIOS board. But this board is a public examination (open exam), so even the ones who have failed in regular education from boards such as State board, CBSE, ICSE can apply for this and save a year. NIOS Admission Eligibility
Before filling the NIOS admission form, all the applicants or learners are required to read the eligibility mentioned in the prospectus carefully. Only eligible students are advised to fill the application form.
Eligibility criteria NIOS student for both secondary and higher secondary courses are as follows-
For admission to the secondary course is-
- The learner must be of 14 years of age as on 31st July for block I
- Candidates must be of 14 years as on 31st January for block II
- Candidates must have a class 8th certificate from a recognized Board as proof of minimum qualification.
For NIOS admission to the higher secondary course is
- Candidates must be of 15 years of age as on 31st July for block I
- Candidates must be of 15 years as on 31st January for block II
- Applicants must have qualified class 10th from a recognized board and must have a secondary certificate.

NIOS Admission fee
- All the candidates have to pay an Admission fee of Rs.400 per subject.
- Admission fee can be paid through online mode (Debit Credit/Card Card/Net Banking), or through Electronic Wallet of CSCs
